Mitchell E. Blaser
Mitchell E. Blaser is Chief Operations Officer of Ironshore Inc., Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore's Bermuda office, Chief Executive Officer of Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd., and Chief Executive Officer of IronServe. Prior to joining Ironshore, Mr. Blaser was Chief Financial Officer for Swiss Re's Americas Division from 2001 through 2005 and served as a director of Swiss Re America. Prior to Swiss Re, he was part of the leadership team at Marsh, the insurance services subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, and served in a variety of roles from 1973 until 2001 including Global Chief Financial Officer and Head of Technology and Corporate Services, as well as a member of the Marsh Board of Directors.
Mr. Blaser chairs the Advisory Board at The George Washington University School of Business. He holds a B.B.A. from The George Washington University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Pace University.
Joseph L. Boren
Joseph L. Boren is Chairman of the Environmental product line at Ironshore Holdings (U.S.) Inc., Executive Vice President of Ironshore Insurance Services, LLC, and President of U.S. Field Operations. He was formerly Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Environmental since 1996, which he built into the leading U.S. provider of environmental insurance products and services. Mr. Boren began his environmental career in the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. He has experience in every environmental segment having operated businesses in water, waste water, hazardous and the solid waste industry. Joe serves as the Chairman of Riverkeeper, an Environmental group safeguarding NY waterways, and is also on the Board of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.
Matthew Dolan is the President of IronHealth and an Executive Vice President of Ironshore. As President of IronHealth he is responsible for all aspects of IronHealth's operations. IronHealth is an organization focused on providing specialty products to the healthcare industry, including, Managed Care Errors and Omissions Liability, Hospital Professional Liability, Long Term Care Liability and Life Sciences Errors and Omissions Liability. Prior to joining Ironshore, Dolan was a founder and President of OneBeacon Professional Partners. He is a former Co-Chair of the PLUS Medical Malpractice Symposium and has written and spoken extensively on industry issues throughout the years.
Mr. Dolan graduated with a B.A. from Catholic University in 1988 and earned his CPCU designation in 1997.
Meg Drago is the global head of Human Resources at Ironshore. Prior to joining Ironshore, she was the head of global human resources for MasterCard Worldwide. During her tenure at MasterCard, Drago also served as head of human resources for the European Region, headquartered in Belgium. Most recently, she has worked around the world with a wide variety of companies in different industries as a human capital consultant specializing in leadership development.
Meg Drago has a degree in Business Administration from The American University and has completed the Managing Human Capital Executive Education series at Harvard University. She received her Leadership Development and Coaching Certification from Georgetown University. Drago is an active member of both the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). She has served as an adjunct professor at NYU's Department of Leadership and Human Capital Management, most recently having taught Executive Coaching.
Krishnan Ethirajan is Chief Operations Officer of IronServe. IronServe is a global operating unit that delivers Underwriting, Claims and Finance Operations, Analytics, Reporting, Information Technology and Outsourced services to all of Ironshore’s global platforms. Prior to Ironshore, Mr. Ethirajan was at PricewaterhouseCoopers, as the Insurance sector leader for their shared services and operations practice. Ethirajan also had previous management roles at Allstate Insurance where he established the Global Sourcing Office and was responsible for executing their operational transformation program. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ethirajan worked at Gartner, and managed their Asia and Central US consulting group. He has a B.S in Electrical Engineering from University of Madras and M.S in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston.
Greg Flood is President of IronPro®, Ironshore's professional liability arm. Prior to joining Ironshore, Mr. Flood was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of National Union Fire Insurance Company, a subsidiary of American International Group. Before this position, Mr. Flood co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Global Specialty Risk (GSR), a D&O specialty insurer launched in 2000 and subsequently acquired by AIG. Previously, Flood was President of AIG's Mergers and Acquisitions Insurance Services Division. From 1988 to 1998 he served in a variety of positions with National Union. Mr. Flood also worked as a broker and Vice President with Marsh & McLennan.
Mr. Flood holds a B.A. in Economics from Pace University and an M.B.A. from Long Island University.
David Frediani is President of International at Ironshore. Prior to joining Ironshore in 2012, Mr. Frediani worked for Marsh & McLennan Companies for over 30 years, of which 24 years were dedicated to international responsibilities in Latin America, Asia, Continental Europe, and the U.K. He has held positions in global strategic oversight, country management, client relationship management, business development, and marketing. He served as Senior Vice President of International and Client Development for Marsh & McLennan Companies, based in New York, and was a Managing Director of Marsh Inc. for Europe, Middle East and Africa and a member of the European Board and Executive Committee.
Mr. Frediani has been involved with many organizations including the World Economic Forum, American European Business Association, Council on Foreign Relations, Advisory Council of VCU Risk & Insurance Studies Center, and a member of the Board of St. Paul’s Cathedral Trust in America.
Mr. Frediani holds a Masters in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.
Gerald E. Frick
Gerald E. Frick is responsible for Ironshore's Global Aviation and Space business. Prior to joining Ironshore, Mr. Frick worked at Marsh & McLennan for forty years in various Casualty and Aviation positions. In the Aviation field, Mr. Frick is an expert in Airlines and Aerospace and was instrumental in creating all forms of Space insurance. Most recently Frick was a Managing Director and Chairman of Marsh's Global Aviation & Space Practice.
Mr. Frick holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Economics from Lehigh University and completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
Paul S. Giordano
Paul S. Giordano is Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Ironshore Inc. and Chairman of Ironshore's Political Risk, Special Risk & Surety businesses. Prior to joining Ironshore in 2009, Mr. Giordano served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chairman of Syncora Holdings Ltd. and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Syncora Guarantee Inc. From 2004-2006, he was Chief Executive Officer of Financial Products and Services Operations of XL Capital Ltd. From 1997-2004, Giordano served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of XL Capital Ltd. In his 9 years at XL, Mr. Giordano served on XL Capital Ltd's Executive Management Board in addition to serving as a director of several of its subsidiaries. From 2005 to 2011, Giordano has actively been a director of Primus Guaranty Ltd., a credit swap business focused on corporate and sovereign credits. Prior to XL Capital Ltd, Mr. Giordano was in private practice at the law firms of Clifford Chance and Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton in New York and London.
Mr. Giordano received his BA from the University of Missouri, and graduated with a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar and holds his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Tim Glover is the Active Underwriter for Ironshore's Lloyd's Syndicate 4000 and Underwriting Director of Pembroke Managing Agency. He serves on the board of group subsidiaries Ironshore International and Pembroke Managing Agency at Lloyd's. Before joining the Ironshore Group in 2008, Mr. Glover helped establish Syndicate 4000 in 2004 and prior to that he had several roles at Lloyd's Managing Agency SVB Syndicates Ltd including deputy Active Underwriter for Syndicate1007. He began his career in Lloyd's in 1989 and became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance in 1999.
Kevin H. Kelley
Kevin H. Kelley is Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore Inc. Mr. Kelley joined Ironshore in 2008 following his professional tenure at AIG’s Lexington Insurance Company, where he is credited with building it into a leading excess and surplus lines insurance company. Under his leadership, Mr. Kelley has expanded Ironshore's international presence with a network of offices offering diverse, specialty insurance coverages around the world.
Mr. Kelley served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Lexington Insurance Company from 1997 to 2008. He held various management positions throughout his career with the AIG subsidiary, starting as a Senior Underwriter in 1975. He was elected President and Chief Executive Officer in 1987, after having held a variety of leadership roles within the company, including Executive Vice President of AIG Property Casualty Group and President of AIG Domestic Personal Lines.
Mr. Kelley is a lifelong resident of New England, recognized for his dedication to community service for a range of state and area organizations and educational institutions. He currently is on the Board of Trustees of Caritas-Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay and Cardinal Spellman High School, all of which are located in the Boston area. He serves on the Board of Overseers of WBUR and the Boston National Public Radio (NPR) station. In New York, he was elected to the Board of Overseers for St. John’s University School of Risk Management. Notably, he sits on the distinguished President’s Council for the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation in Boston.
Shaun E. Kelly
Shaun E. Kelly is President of Ironshore Inc. & Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore's U.S. Operations. Prior to joining Ironshore, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Lexington Insurance Company, a Division of AIG. At Lexington, Mr. Kelly's responsibilities included overseeing the day to day operations of the Boston based company's Casualty, Property, Healthcare and Program businesses, in addition to the National Branch Underwriting Unit and branch offices in Canada, London and Bermuda. Mr. Kelly was also Vice President of AIG Property Casualty Group and Chief Executive Officer of Risk Specialties Companies, Inc., the largest Surplus Lines broker of Specialty Insurance products in the US, providing business on behalf of Lexington and other specialty carriers. Having worked at AIG since 1986, he held a number of senior management positions with AIG's Environmental Operations, AIG Risk Management and Industry Specialties Groups. Mr. Kelly received his Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York at Oneonta.
Anthony Mammolite is President of Global Property. Mr. Mammolite joined Ironshore in April 2009 where he overlooks strategic direction and development of the property division. Prior to his current role, Mr. Mammolite was Senior Vice President at Lexington Insurance Company where he managed their US Property Field Operations. He spent two years as Regional President of the greater New York region for American International Group where his responsibilities included the day to day management of all AIG product lines within the New York Region along with P&L responsibilities and strategic broker and client development. Mr. Mammolite worked as Senior Vice President/Zonal Executive of the greater New York region for Lexington Insurance Company from 2004 through 2006 where he was responsible for the management and strategic direction of all Lexington product lines within the New York metropolitan area. His career includes thirty five years of underwriting experience, including twenty five years in the property lines of business.
Ed Mazman is Executive Vice President of Ironshore’s US Property unit and is responsible for all property operations including retail, wholesale and personal lines. Mr. Mazman brings over 25 years of commercial property underwriting and management experience to Ironshore. Prior to joining the company, Mazman worked for 12 years at Lexington Insurance Company, where he managed their national branch and was Product Line Manager for the Real Estate and General Property sector. Before working at Lexington, Mr. Mazman worked at CIGNA for four years as an underwriter within the Energy and Power Group. He also gained experience working as an underwriter at Home Insurance for four years for the Inland Marine Group.
Mr. Mazman is a graduate of Salem State College.
Tim McAuliffe is EVP of Ironshore Insurance Services LLC and President of Specialty Casualty and Programs for Ironshore. In his Specialty Casualty role he leads a team focused on Primary GL, Lead Umbrella and Excess Casualty products for North American based risks. His Program responsibilities include leading the Ironshore Program team in producing and administering the overall portfolio across all lines of business within Ironshore. Mr. McAuliffe joined Ironshore with over 14 years of underwriting experience within the AIG organization, where he held a number of senior positions including President of AIG Excess Casualty; and COO of Starr Excess where he was responsible for field operations in Bermuda, London, Dublin and the United States.
Mr. McAuliffe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers College and received a JD from New York Law School. He is the founder and President of Westfield Indoor Rowing, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to developing athletes and providing access to the sport of indoor rowing. He is an active supporter of Our House; NY Boys Hope Girls Hope and US Rowing.
Mike Mitrovic is President of Global Claims for Ironshore. Prior to joining Ironshore, Mr. Mitrovic was Vice President of Claims for AIG and President of AIG Worldwide Financial Lines Claims. Previously, Mr. Mitrovic co-founded and served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Global Specialty Risk. From 1996 to January 2000, he served as Vice President of AIG Worldwide Financial Lines Claims and Executive Vice President of National Union. His 22 years of experience with AIG also included serving as President of AIG Technical Services, Inc.
Mr. Mitrovic holds a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University, a M.A. from New York University, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University and J.D. from the University of Richmond.
John O'Brien is President of the Environmental product line at Ironshore. Previously, Mr. O’Brien served as President and Chief Operating Officer of AIG Environmental. Mr. O'Brien joined the AIG companies in 1992, after several years in the environmental consulting business. Mr. O’Brien started his career as an underwriter in Philadelphia for AIG Environmental, then managed the Chicago region before moving to New York where he managed the corporate account segments prior to becoming President. Prior to AIG, O'Brien was a consulting engineer for 4 years.
Mr. O’Brien is a graduate of Villanova University.
Joe is Chief Financial Officer of Ironshore Inc. where he is responsible for the management and oversight of all financial aspects of Ironshore’s worldwide activities. Prior to joining Ironshore, Joe was employed by Alterra Capital Holdings Limited (formerly Max Capital Group) serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He served as Vice President, Finite Underwriting for Overseas Partners Re Ltd from 2001 to 2002 and also held various management positions with KPMG Bermuda from 1994 to 2001. Mr. Roberts began his career in public accounting in 1987, before moving to the London office of Moore Stephens in 1989. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Mark W. Scully
Mark W. Scully is Chief Actuary of Ironshore Inc. Prior to joining Ironshore in 2012, Mark served as Chief Actuary to several global companies, including AIG-Property Casualty and Allianz Group. At Allianz, Mark founded and built a new corporate actuarial function overseeing both life and property-casualty insurance. Prior to joining Allianz, Mark was a principal at Towers Watson and the founder of that company’s property-casualty consulting practice in Germany. Mark began his insurance career at Travelers Insurance Company in 1982.
Mark received his B.A. in Mathematics and German from Washington and Lee University and his M.A. in International Economics and Foreign Policy at the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.
Daniel L. Sussman
Daniel L. Sussman is President of Ironshore’s Political Risk Unit and Special Risks Unit. Prior to joining Ironshore in 2010, Mr. Sussman spent 9 years at XL Capital Ltd., where he served in a variety of executive and leadership capacities, becoming CEO of Financial Lines, one of XL’s strategic reporting segments. Mr. Sussman’s responsibilities included management of XL Financial Solutions, XL Weather & Energy and XL’s specialty banking products and political risk insurance business. Sussman also served on the boards of a Bermuda-based specialty insurance company and a New York-based holding company for a specialty broker-dealer. Prior to XL, Mr. Sussman was in private law practice in New York at Clifford Chance and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Mr. Sussman received his BA from Harvard University, his JD from University of Pennsylvania School of Law, his MA (Public Policy) from The Wharton School and his BCL from Oxford University.
Mark Wheeler joined the Ironshore Group in 2008 and was elected CEO of Ironshore International in 2009. Mr. Wheeler serves on the board of group subsidiary Pembroke Managing Agency at Lloyd's and is Chairman of Ironshore Europe Limited which is domiciled in Dublin with a branch in London. Mr. Wheeler serves as Chairman of Ironshore Canada Ltd and Ironshore Australia Pty Ltd. He was the founding Underwriting Director of Pembroke Managing Agency and the first Active Underwriter of the group's Syndicate 4000 which was established in 2004. Mr. Wheeler worked at SVB from 1990 to 2003 where he served on a number of group boards and held several senior management positions including Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1007. He has worked at Lloyd's since 1987; his first role was at Sturge Marine Syndicate 203. Mr. Wheeler became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance in 1991.
