Ironshore's® board consists of 16 members comprising of senior management, founders and advisors, as well as affiliates of the company's major private equity investors (Irving Place Capital, Corporate Partners, Calera Capital, TowerBrook Capital Partners and Greenhill Capital Partners). Our board members bring a wealth of knowledge and insurance experience to the table. They have long track records of understanding and managing insurance market risk.

Kevin H. Kelley
Kevin is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore Inc. Prior to Ironshore, Mr. Kelley had been with Lexington Insurance Company, a Division of AIG, since he started there in 1975 as a Senior Underwriter. In 1987, he was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Lexington Insurance Company and since 1997, he had served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kelley has served a variety of other roles including Executive Vice President of AIG Property Casualty Group and President of AIG Domestic Personal Lines. Mr. Kelley graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University School of Management in 1972. He earned his CPCU designation in 1980.

Mr. Kelley, a lifelong New England resident, has a long history of community service, and is currently on the Board of Trustees of Caritas - Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts; Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay in Boston, Massachusetts; Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, Massachusetts; Advisory Board to the Dean of Boston University School of Management in Boston, Massachusetts; and Board of Overseers of WBUR in Boston, Massachusetts.


Shaun Kelly
Shaun is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore's U.S. Operations. Prior to joining Ironshore, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Lexington Insurance Company, a Division of AIG. At Lexington, Mr. Kelly's responsibilities included overseeing the day to day operations of the Boston based company's Casualty, Property, Healthcare and Program businesses, in addition to the National Branch Underwriting Unit and branch offices in Canada, London and Bermuda. Mr. Kelly was also Vice President of AIG Property Casualty Group and Chief Executive Officer of Risk Specialties Companies, Inc., the largest Surplus Lines broker of Specialty Insurance products in the US, providing business on behalf of Lexington and other specialty carriers. Having worked at AIG since 1986, he held a number of senior management positions with AIG's Environmental Operations, AIG Risk Management and Industry Specialties Groups. Mr. Kelly received his Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York at Oneonta.


Jonathan Bilzin
Mr. Bilzin is a Senior Managing Director of TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P., a private equity firm, where he has worked since it its formation in March 2005. He serves on TowerBrook's Investment Committee, Portfolio Committee and Risk Committee. From August 1999 until the formation of TowerBrook, Mr. Bilzin was a partner at Soros Private Equity Partners. From July 1994 until July 1997, Mr. Bilzin was a member of the Principal Investment Area and Real Estate Principal Investment Area of Goldman Sachs. Mr. Bilzin earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Scott L Bok
Mr. Bok is Co-Chief Executive Officer of Greenhill & Co., Inc., a NYSE-listed mergers, acquisitions and restructuring advisory firm that he joined as a Managing Director in 1997, shortly after it was founded. He is also a founder and Managing Director of Greenhill Capital Partners, the firm's merchant banking fund, which manages more than $1 billion of capital. He serves on the Board of Directors of Greenhill, Heartland Payment Systems and Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corporation. Before joining Greenhill, Mr. Bok was a Managing Director in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Department of Morgan Stanley & Co., based in New York and London. In more than ten years at Morgan Stanley, he advised corporations throughout North America, Europe and Asia in a variety of industries on acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and joint ventures. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he practiced mergers and acquisitions and securities law in New York with Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz for more than two years. He serves on the Board of Directors of Greenhill, Iridium Communications and Stroz Friedberg.


John Clements
Mr. Clements is the Managing Partner of Tara Investment Partners LLC, a private investment partnership that invests in the insurance industry and was a co-founder of Integro Ltd. and Ironshore Inc. From 1995 until 2005, he was a Principal of MMC Capital, Inc. (now Stone Point Capital LLC), a private equity firm that serves as the manager of the Trident Funds, which have raised in excess of $10 billion in committed capital to make investments in the insurance and financial services industries. Previously, he was with Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank) where he held various positions from 1987 to 1995.

Mr. Clements has served as a director and represented the founding investors in various 'start-up' companies in the insurance industry, including Advisen Ltd., Altus Ltd. (now part of Arch), American Strategic Insurance (ARX Holding Corp.), Global Specialty Risk, Inc. (now part of AIG), Integro, Ironshore and James River Group, Inc. He was also involved in the creation of Axis Capital Holdings (AXS - NYSE) and currently serves on the Board of Overseers of the School of Risk Management at St. John's University. He holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles.


Robert Clements
Mr. Clements is currently the non-executive Chairman of Integro, which he founded in 2005. Prior to Integro, Mr. Clements was Chairman of Arch, which he founded in 1995. Prior to Arch, Mr. Clements served as President and a Director of MMC. He also was the founder of MMC's private equity business, MMC Capital, Inc. (now Stone Point Capital LLC), and served as its Chief Executive Officer until 1996. Previously, he was responsible for Marsh's worldwide insurance brokering operations for many years.

Mr. Clements is a director of Integro, as well as a former director of ACE, Arch, Mid Ocean, Hiscox PLC, Island Heritage Insurance and XL. He is the Chairman of the Risk Foundation, Chairman Emeritus of the College of Insurance, former Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the School of Risk Management at St. John's University, and an Overseer Emeritus of the Institute for Civil Justice. He has served the U.S. Government as a member of its Services Policy Advisory Committee and of the President's Advisory Commission on Product Liability and was the recipient of The Free Enterprise Award in 1987. He holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College.


Aaron Cohen
Mr. Cohen joined GTCR in 2003 as an associate and became a vice president in 2004. He was instrumental in GTCR's past Investment in Prestige Brands. Mr. Cohen previously worked as an analyst at the private equity firm of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst. Prior to that he worked as an analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Salomon Smith Barney. Mr. Cohen earned a BS in Accountancy, with high honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Cohen is currently a Director of Ironshore, Inc., Triad Financial Corporation and Wilton Products.


David Donnini
Mr. Donnini joined GTCR in 1991 and became a principal in 1993. He also worked as an associate consultant with Bain & Company. Mr. Donnini's directorships include Cardinal Logistics Management, Wilton Products, Fairmount Food Group, Golden Gate Logistics, Ironshore, Inc., Triad Financial and Wallace Theaters. He also has been instrumental in past GTCR investments such as Cambridge Protection, HSM Electronic Security Monitoring, Prestige Brands, Coinmach, Gensar and Polypore.

Prior to joining GTCR, he earned his BA in Economics from Yale University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Donnini also holds an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar and the Robichek Finance Award winner.


James Halow
Mr. Halow is a Principal of Calera Capital (formerly Fremont Partners). Within this small group of professionals, Mr. Halow has led in the evaluation of a number of investments in financial services, building products, and a range of other industries. He also works closely with the management teams of Calera portfolio companies to develop strategies and financial and operational objectives. Prior to joining Calera Capital in 2000, Mr. Halow worked for Salomon Smith Barney's Technology Investment Banking Group in San Francisco. Mr. Halow graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with a B.A. degree in Economics and English. Mr. Halow serves on the Board of Directors of the Okizu Foundation.


Keith Hynes
Mr. Hynes serves on the Ironshore Inc. Board of Directors as the Chairman of the Audit Committee.  Since 2009, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of directors of Majestic Capital, Ltd., a P&C insurance company headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda.  From September 1999 until his retirement in March 2007, Mr. Hynes served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Max Re Capital Ltd. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Hynes held various senior management positions, including chief financial officer, at Renaissance Re Holdings, Ltd. From 1983 to 1994, Mr. Hynes held various positions, including chief financial officer, at Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co, and from 1978 to 1983, he held various positions at Aetna Life and Casualty Company. Mr. Hynes served as a director of Grand Central Re Ltd. from 2001 until 2007 and as a director of DaVinciRe Holdings Ltd. from 2001 to 2006. Mr. Hynes is a chartered financial analyst admitted to the CFA Institute. Mr. Hynes graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a B.S. in math and computer science and holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.


Russell John
Mr. John retired as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re Underwriters Agency on December 31, 2006. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Underwriters Reinsurance Company. He joined Underwriters Re in 1987 as Chief Actuary, became President and Chief Operating Officer in 1995 and Chief Executive Officer in 1998. After the company was purchased by Swiss Re in 2000, Mr. John stayed on as CEO. Prior to Underwriters Re, he held various senior positions at Prudential Reinsurance Company and Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Mr. John is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and has served on numerous CAS and other industry committees. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.


Jonathan H Kagan
Mr. Kagan is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, Mr. Kagan was a Managing Director of Corporate Partners I, which he joined in 1990, and of Centre Partners Management LLC, which managed the Centre Capital funds. He began his career in the investment banking division of Lazard in 1980 and became a General Partner in 1987. At Lazard, Mr. Kagan helped head the corporate finance and capital markets areas. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Gevity HR Inc. and is or has been a member of the Board of Directors of a number of NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed companies and private companies. Mr. Kagan received an M.A. (1st Hon.) from Oxford University and an A.B., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard College.


David King
Mr. King joined Irving Place Capital (formerly known as Bear Stearns Merchant Banking) in 2001. Mr. King focuses on investing in the financial and business services sectors and is a member of Irving Place Capital's Investment and Advisory Committees. He serves on the boards of Doral Financial Corporation (NYSE: DRL) and a number of private companies. In addition, Mr. King is a member of the advisory board of Falconhead Capital, LLC. Previously, he was a Managing Director of McCown De Leeuw & Co., where he worked from 1990 to 2000. Mr. King's experience includes General Atlantic Partners, Schlumberger, and Sohio Petroleum. He received an MBA from Stanford University, a MS from Stony Brook University, and a BA from Rice University. He is a member of the Stony Brook University Graduate School Dean's Council.


Joshua H Neuman
Mr. Neuman is a Managing Director of Irving Place Capital (formerly BSMB). Prior to joining BSMB in 2001, Mr. Neuman worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in the Real Estate Merchant Banking and Leveraged Finance groups from 1996 through 1999. Mr. Neuman holds an M.B.A., with high distinction as a George F. Baker Scholar, from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics, summa cum laude, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Ronald A Sandler
Mr. Sandler is chairman of Ironshore, having joined the Board in October 2007. He has many years of global financial services experience and is a recognized leader within the London insurance market. His early career was with the Boston Consulting Group, Booz Allen & Hamilton, and as Chief Executive of Martin Bierbaum Group and Exco. He was Chief Executive Officer of Lloyd's of London from 1995 until 1999, playing a key role in Lloyd's Reconstruction and Renewal, and subsequently Chief Operating Officer of NatWest Group. He is currently chairman of Northern Rock, Phoenix Group and Paternoster, and a member of the advisory board of Palamon capital Partners. He has an MA in engineering from Cambridge University and an MBA from Stanford University.


Mark Williamson
Mark is a Managing Partner of Calera Capital and a member of the General Partner. Prior to joining Calera Capital in 1996, Mr. Williamson was Managing Director at the Harvard Private Capital Group, Inc., where he was a member of a small team responsible for managing a $1.6 billion private equity portfolio. Mr. Williamson was responsible for a number of significant investments across a range of industries. Previously, he was an Associate at ESL Partners, Inc., a private investment partnership pursuing value-oriented investments in private and public equity and debt securities. He began his career at Goldman Sachs International Corporation and McKinsey & Company, Inc.

Mr. Williamson currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Direct General Corporation (non-standard auto insurer) and as Chairman of the Board of IPS Corporation (adhesive cements, structural adhesives and niche plumbing products). He also serves as a Director of Ironshore Corporation (commercial property and casualty insurer). Mr. Williamson is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Specialty Brands, Inc. (frozen food products), a former Director of Juno Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ, recessed and track lighting fixtures), a former Director of Software Architects, Inc. (provider of IT services to Fortune 500 clients), and a former Director of Tarquin PLC (international marine insurance).

Mr. Williamson earned a B.A. from Oxford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, a Kennedy Memorial Scholar, and recipient of the Loeb Rhoades Fellow finance prize.


Paul J Zepf
Paul J. Zepf. Mr. Zepf is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, he was a Managing Director of Corporate Partners I, which he joined in 1989, and of Centre Partners Management LLC, which managed the Centre Capital funds. He began his career with the Merchant Banking Department of Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1987. Mr. Zepf is currently or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed and private companies. He received a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Notre Dame.
