Anil Kumar Bhargava is Assistant Vice President, and production specialist for Ironshore’s Agriculture Division. Anil brings with him invaluable experience in global agricultural risks for crop and livestock, commodity markets, and index-based products. Anil joins Ironshore with an extensive academic background in the economics of agriculture. He previously was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan and he completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis, in 2014. His dissertation on resource-conserving technology adoption in India received the 2015 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA). His research focuses on the economic causes of and pathways out of poverty in low-income countries, as they relate to natural resources, climate change, agriculture, and technology use. Anil previously received his BA in Political Economy at UC Berkeley.
